Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida, is one of America’s oldest and most beloved botanical gardens. Founded in 1936 by Dick Pope Sr., and now an attraction inside Legoland, Cypress Gardens was a beautiful and expansive place to see native Florida fauna and was also used for many movies and as a photography space. The adjoining lake has also been the site of many famous waterskiing shows, where talented waterskiiers performed and broke records. After undergoing some storm and financial struggles, Cypress Gardens was purchased as the newest addition to the Legoland family. Legoland retained the botanical portion of the park, and repurposed some of the attractions. For instance, the classic carousel now has Lego horses.
